Teaching Artistry
“I firmly believe that the best teaching artists are those that continue to seek out learning opportunities themselves. And who better to learn from than my students? Every day in the classroom is a challenge; everyday I grow as an artist and a person.”
Kendra has experience teaching all ages and abilities of students through residencies, after-school programming, workshops, and production-based classes and camps. Kendra loves to integrate drama with core subjects, especially math and science curriculum, and she often utilizes creative drama, process drama, and applied theatre techniques in her teaching artistry.
In addition to her work in the classroom, Kendra also prepares educational extension materials for students and teachers to use before and after productions.

Professional Development for Educators
Kendra loves leading professional development for classroom educators or other teaching artists. In the summer of 2022, she was the Creative Drama faculty member at the Tennessee Arts Academy. She actively presents at conferences in theatre education and has partnered with schools to provide drama-based pedagogy sessions for cohorts of teachers. If you are interested in bringing her to your program or school district either as a residency partner teaching artist or PD facilitator, please contact Kendra.
